From the famous Irente views point you see village of Mazinde, almost 1000m below and vast Maasai steppe beyond. On return trip to Lushoto you visit Irente farm for lunch at an orphanage that acts as a blind and autistic school, in the village of Kwembago.
4 - 5 hours
This tour begins with an up hill walk from Lushoto to he royal village of Kwembago. Here you can learn about the cultural history of the traditional ruling clan of the Kilindi, and of the centuries – old kingdom of Washambara from Kwembago. From here you have a beautiful view over Lushoto to the Maasai plain. From here you proceed to the Lushoto Magamba tropical rain forest, home to the rare black and white Colubus Monkey and old world species that is endemic to Africa. You will hear them first, they are frequently visible as they sit in groups high in the forest canopy. Return to Lushoto passes via German middle school and the village of Magamba.
5 - 6 hours
This walk takes you through the fertile land of Jaegertal to a fruit tree nursery where you learn about different varieties of fruit trees contained in the nursery. You continue up hill to the village of Vuli to learn about local soil conservation and irrigation project and farming methods. The last part of the journey, we return to Lushoto.
4 hours
From the village of Mbuzii which overlooks Soni and Scornful, you wander slowly down the sleep slopes of the Bangala River Valley, at times wading through cool mountain streams, that offers a welcome relief from the rising savannah heat. The backdrop is fertile farm lands, traditional irrigation systems and spectacular views over the Maasai plans.
From Lushoto drive to Soni Halfway between Mombo and Lushoto, You walk to the top of Kwamongo mountain famous for its mult-coloured butterflies via the Village of Shashui an Kwamula.
6.5 Hours
There is a cool pool at the foot of the falls, that is afe to swim. The water falls is situated in dense tropical rain forest where you can see the black and white Colabus monkey and chameleon. Just relax in the waterfall by swimming, then walk back to Lushoto or an option to drive back.
6 - 8 hours
Visit historical buildings that are German-influenced architecture from those early colonial days around Lushoto. These historic European buildings include the former District Office and the post office, built in 1913. Return back at the end of the day.
